- Impaired Blood Clotting: Conditions such as hemophilia or the use of blood thinners can increase the risk of excessive bleeding during the procedure.

- Inflammatory Conditions of the Eyelid Mucous Membrane: For eyelid PMU, if you have a history of conditions like blepharitis or other inflammatory eye conditions, this could increase the risk of complications.

This two-step process is essential to ensure your permanent makeup looks natural, is evenly applied, and lasts as long as possible.
- Individual Body Characteristics: Factors such as hormonal balance, skin regeneration speed, and metabolism can influence how well the pigment takes hold and how it heals.
- Immune System Response: After the first PMU procedure, your immune system may recognize the pigment as a foreign substance and attempt to eliminate some of it. This is a natural response and can result in some pigment fading.
- Skin Type: The type of skin you have (dry, oily, vascular, porous, etc.) also plays a role in how the pigment is absorbed and retained.
- Post-Procedure Care: How well you follow aftercare instructions is crucial to the healing process and the longevity of the pigment.
The Two-Step Process:
- First Procedure: During the initial session, I assess your skin’s response to the procedure, including how it heals and retains pigment. The first application is often lighter to ensure a natural look and to observe how your skin handles the process.
- Healing Period: Skin regeneration typically takes about 30 days. During this time, some areas may lose more pigment than others, and the overall color may lighten as the skin heals.
- Second Procedure (Touch-Up): About 1 to 2 months after the initial procedure, a touch-up session is necessary to:
- Enhance Color: Increase the saturation of the pigment for a more vibrant and lasting result.
- Adjust Shape: Make any needed adjustments to the shape based on the healed results.
- Fill Gaps: Address any areas where the pigment may have faded or not taken as well during healing.
- Ensure Longevity: After the touch-up, the pigment typically lasts in the skin for approximately 1-2 years.

- Disinfection of Work Surfaces and Equipment: Before each session, all work surfaces and equipment are thoroughly disinfected to eliminate any risk of contamination.
- Barrier Protection: Everything I touch during the pigment application process is covered with barrier protection to prevent cross-contamination.
- Sterilization of Reusable Tools: All reusable tools are treated with an antiseptic solution and undergo rigorous thermal sterilization to ensure they are completely sanitized.
- Use of Sterile, Disposable Needles: Needles used during the procedure are sterile and disposable, ensuring the highest level of hygiene. They are opened directly in front of you during the session for complete transparency.
